My friend and peer Michael Hemken passed this year, and I spent some effort assisting his widow, Revelee, with the estate.  I also acquired a significant part of it, including the Olivewood that I used in this guitar.  This is the closest to perfectly quartered Olive I've encountered as the trees are generally too small and convoluted for a quartered 2 piece bck to be possible. She told me Michael acquired the wood at least 30 years ago, and that it was already old then.
